Project Description
The installation looks at the morphology of one of the most intricate territorial conflicts of our time. It reads the local politics of "weak form" as an ongoing work of line manipulation, surface pre-occupation and spce liquidation. The installation is an overlay of gestures and emblems. The enveloping screen wall re-enact the Tri'sol.
Originally a 60's brand name of an Israeli PVC shutters, is by now a generic title and ritual object representing the local culture of domestic cladding, screening and annexation of outdoor spaces.
The blown up cartographic image printed on the shutters - Eyal Weizman's writing on the wall - depicts the Israeli-Palestinian terrain as a patchwork territory in a dynamic process of change, dissemination and fragmentation.
